FAQ
What is polyester wool?
Polyester wool is an acoustic material that is used for thermal and acoustic insulation. It is known for its light weight, skin-friendliness, and excellent sound-absorbing properties.
What is polyester wool made of?
Polyester wool is made from fibres that are largely derived from recycled PET, such as used plastic bottles. It is completely free from chemical binders, making it an environmentally friendly and safe choice.
What thickness of EASYpol should I apply?
The thickness and density of the fiber affect the absorption value. Generally speaking: the thicker and heavier the material, the higher the average absorption value. For damping low frequencies (125-500 Hz), we recommend a thickness of at least 40 mm.
Why should I choose polyester wool over glass or stone wool?
Polyester wool is skin-friendly and does not cause irritation to the airways or eyes. It contains no chemical binders and is largely made from recycled PET. As a result, it is an ecological and user-friendly alternative to glass and stone wool.
Is EASYpol polyester wool available in all colours?
No, the polyester wool is only available in the colours white and black.
Can EASYpol Polyester wool withstand sunlight?
Yes, EASYpol polyester wool is both heat and UV resistant, which contributes to the durability of the product.
Has polyester wool been tested for fire properties?
Yes, the material has been tested according to EN13501:2002. Most variants meet the fire safety requirements for use in public spaces. Documentation is available upon request.
How do you apply EASYpol polyester wool?
Polyester wool is easy to process and apply. To cut the material to size, you can use a sharp insulation knife or a Stanley knife. For more precise cutting work, the Bosch GSG 300 is a suitable option. In industrial applications, polyester wool can also be water-cut or stamped.
For the confirmation, polyester wool can be glued with mounting glue. Cut the nozzle of the tube at an angle and place it in a standard caulking gun. Apply the glue in even beads on the substrate or directly on the material. Then press the polyester wool down firmly to ensure a good bond. Make sure the glue has enough time to cure for a secure attachment.
