Isolating the control cabinet of your boat or yacht
Enhance your boating pleasure by reducing annoying sounds. We offer various insulation materials that can help with this and are happy to advise you in making the right choice.
The control cabinet is a hollow space with hard, sound-reflecting surfaces. As a result, sounds, such as those from moving parts, are amplified. This causes noise nuisance. You can reduce this by applying sound-absorbing materials in the control cabinet, which decreases the sound reflections.Â
Important to know:
Absorbing foams work best on large surfaces to effectively dampen sound. It is not necessary to cover the entire surface completely. You can safely skip cutouts, corners, or hard-to-reach areas.Â
Foams such as melamine foam and polyester foam are ideal for absorbing sound, while mass panels reduce sound vibrations and provide extra insulation.
Additionally, it is important to consider the moisture resistance and heat resistance of the materials, especially in the control cabinet where the temperature can rise and moisture can accumulate.
What materials can I use?
Our advice
We recommend EASYfoam PU and FireSeal HR for this application. Both products have a top layer that repels moisture and oil. This results in a longer lifespan and better resistance to harsh conditions.Â
